Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Competition
Have you got the next young scientist or young engineer of the year in your class?
Or the best communicator, the best newcomer or the best problem solver?
The South East heats of the Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Competition (formerly NSEC) are being held on Wednesday 28th June, and we still have some spaces available for teams or individuals, aged 11-18.
Students can enter projects they’ve been working on in a STEM Club or as part of class work or under their own initiative. Projects can be science-based (research, investigation, experimentation) or engineering-based (invention, design, build). Students are judged by people from industry or academia and best in each category and age group are awarded, as well as subject-specific prizes and soft skills like communication. Winners represent the South East at the national finals in March 2018.
Alongside the judging, the students also get to enjoy the excitement of the Big Bang Fair South East – more than 200 activities from employers, HE and FE, and STEM professionals. The video shows the day, if you don’t know what to expect.
How to enter
It’s free and simple to enter – just fill out the registration form here.
