For schools Events Mary Rose Museum Science Challenge – for year 3/4 pupils For Year 3 & 4 pupils Thursday 25th of April, 10am-2pm Come for a fun and stimulating science based day directly related to the science curriculum. Become an archaeologist! What can we find out from bones? How do we know?A special workshop to tie in with the new exhibition: The Many Faces of Tudor England. Investigate diet, fitness and work on board through the evidence from the skeletons of the Mary Rose crew. Explore the cutting edge science which has provided exciting new scientific evidence about where the Mary Rose crew came from. The Day Includes Complete the skeleton puzzle in the fastest time! Discover what we can find out from bones. Were they all men? How old were they? How do we know? What did the crew of the Mary Rose eat? Consider the impact of the Tudor diet on the health of the sailors. How does the Tudor diet compare to our own? How physically fit were the people on board? Who did the most exercise? How did their work and lifestyle affect there bodies? Where did the crew come from? Explore the latest scientific research. Information About the Day The day is challenging, hands-on and you will have the opportunity to pop into the Mary Rose Museum.
