For schools Events Materials of the Mary Rose Science Challenge About Materials of the Mary Rose Science Challenge The next date is Wednesday 28th February 2019 The day is a challenging, hands-on and you will have the opportunity to pop into the Mary Rose Museum. It is aimed at young people in years 4, 5, and 6 at all levels with Teacher support. Curriculum Links Properties and changes of materials Working scientifically: planning different types of scientific enquiries; reporting and presenting findings from enquiries. Students will also use employability skills, problem solving, communication skills and more. The day will involve: Working in a science laboratory Meeting a scientist Using a digital microscope Handling real and replica artefacts from the Mary Rose Collection Using tablets to take photographs of artefacts in the museum Group presentations sharing conclusions Great pace to the activities with a good range of different things to do.
