About Primary Schools' STEM Fair in Partnership with Portsmouth Water

Educate young people aged 10-11 years old about STEM Careers with an virtual interactive activity live streamed into their classroom.

Be a part of it! This is a 2-day event to give young people an insight into STEM in the workplace.

Research shows children start to rule out career options and hold stereotypical views about male and female careers from a young age.  These activities help to plant the seed of careers in STEM and are an important part of an organisations future pipeline.

Why be part of it?

This event is an essential first step to your future pipeline.

  • Gives businesses an opportunity to demonstrate the breadth of local investment in STEM industries
  • Enhance their CSR commitments to future generations of local employees
  • Helps business to overcome stereotypes of job roles which they start developing at 7 years old
  • Enables business to engage and give back to their community
  • Is a great opportunity for staff development
  • Inspiring other people often helps to inspire your staff and re-motivate them in their role
  • Make a positive difference to young people’s lives

What is Required?

Working with a class of 30 pupils (4 times during one day), you are required to provide an hour session comprising of a company overview, types of STEM job roles and then showcase a ‘hands-on activity’ that the students can replicate during the session followed by a debrief.

Pupils can work in groups so it doesn’t have to be paper-based activities,  If equipment is required, these can be listed to schools in advance as they may be able to source them in-house.  If it is specialised resources, you will be required to provide these to EBP to deliver in advance of the Fair.

Sponsorship Packages

The Primary Schools’ STEM Fair is an opportunity to have a positive impact on young people. It helps businesses to overcome STEM skills gaps for both female and male students.

Building early interventions into business recruitment pipelines can be a very cost-effective targeted way recruit the future generation. Research has shown children at this age are already choosing careers without full knowledge of them or awareness of careers outside of family and media.
