News Get Inspired Southampton Attracts 100s of Young People The Biggest Get Inspired Southampton 1400 young people attend Get Inspired, organised by EBP South at the O2 Guildhall Southampton on Wednesday 7th November to learn about the range of careers available to them on their doorstep. Young people aged 13 – 18 were invited to discover different careers and learn about career pathways at the annual interactive event sponsored by Ford, Southampton City Council, City College, Go! Southampton and SUN Partnership. Suzanne Lewis, EBP South Project Manager said, ‘It is important that young people are aware of career skills required so they can aspire to the local jobs available to them.’ ‘EBP South Get Inspired events provide young people with the opportunity to learn about careers directly from employers at a crucial time in their life when they are making important choices about their next step.’ A range of businesses and education organisations exhibited with an activity which gave young people a practical hands-on approach to find out about careers. Rebecca Handley, Operations Director at Go! Southampton said, ‘Get Inspired Southampton is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the wealth of opportunity in Southampton and to inspire the future generation.’ EBP South Get Inspired events take place across Hampshire including, Portsmouth, New Forest and Basingstoke.
