The aims of the workshop are:
The workshops aim to raise awareness of the wide range of jobs and career opportunities in the creative sector and to make sure that young people understand the requirements of creative career pathways (including employability skills) resulting in better-informed career planning. It will also help young people have a better understanding of the world of work by developing specific work-related skills and improve confidence, resilience, self-awareness and communication skills.
Our Film Production Workshops are hosted by PRM Studio, a business with an extensive background of film production and the ability to bring an employer’s perspective and share information about opportunities/skills gaps in the industry.
Each day consists of two 2.5 hour workshops for 8 students. The sessions will focus on Camera and Sound and Lighting and Grip. At the end of the day each group of 8 should have learnt the skills required to create a short video whilst learning more about the creative industries and developing their employability skills. They will also have created a video about the school or their course which they will then be able to use as promotional tool.
