EBP South works as the single point of contact between businesses and their local schools in The Solent region – by brokering the partnership we make it easy for you to make a real contribution to local young people’s futures.

Opportunities

We have many different opportunities and ways that your company can get involved with young people aged 4 - 18. We can put together a tailored package or you can get involved in one of our programmes or events which includes:

  • Running an activity at the Primary Schools STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Fair
  • Providing volunteers to act as mentors to secondary school students or support on interview preparation
  • Supporting a careers fair to inform young people about areas of employment growth and skill gaps

Every month we work with employers that support in-school events, including ‘guess my job’, ‘business networking’, ‘interview preparation’ as well as many others.

Why get involved?

As well as getting satisfaction from supporting local young people, working with EBP South will also bring direct and tangible benefits to your business:

  • Raising your business profile by sponsoring events
  • Developing a skilled and inspired pool of young people who will be your future workforce
  • Improving your business’ recruitment options
  • Developing and motivating your existing staff team
  • Achieving your Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) objectives

Enterprise Adviser Network

EBP South works closely with the The Careers & Enterprise Company's, Enterprise Adviser Network, an independent organisation making connections and creating opportunities for young people at a strategic level.

'The network is based on evidence that a young person who has four or more encounters with an employer is 86% less likely to be unemployed or not in education or training, and can earn up to 18% more during their career.

At the moment only 40% of schools offer young people this kind of encounter, and unemployment among young people is three times higher than overall unemployment.

Our focus is to address this gap by bringing together employers, schools and colleges, and careers programme providers.'
