Work Experience

EBP South provide a complete in-person work experience service for schools across Hampshire, Isle of Wight and surrounding areas. This includes both block 1 week or 2 week placements and extended placements taking place over several weeks.

The role we play is to ensure that the school’s liabilities for sending students out on work experience (WEX) are reduced by having an ‘expert provider’ ensuring that paperwork and placement checks are undertaken. There are two different types of service that we provide.

Addressing the Youth Employment Challenge

In May 2026, the Rt Hon Alan Milburn released an interim report highlighting a deep crisis of youth disengagement in the UK, revealing that nearly one million young people are NEET status (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), driven by a severe shortage of entry-level roles, a lack of destination-focused career pathways, and a “work experience bind” where young people cannot get a job without prior experience. To reverse this trend, the report calls for a joined-up system that permanently connects education, healthcare, and local employers to support every young person’s transition into the workforce.

EBP South is perfectly positioned to address these findings and bridge these critical gaps.
