Through this partnership, we’ve been able to share information on learning whilst working, give tips on CV building and provide pre-interview guidance to the workforce of the future.”
Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties’ relationship with EBP started when we were looking to engage with local schools to give students details about the various career pathways and educational training available within our business. We also wanted to demonstrate that the construction industry is diversifying, and that the roles and opportunities at Taylor Wimpey are open to everyone.
Team members from Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties took part in a series of events which saw them directly speaking with students. These events included sessions on speed networking, pre-interview preparation, mock interviews and careers fairs. Students showed an interest in the roles available in the business and were also interested to learn about the educational courses they could complete whilst in employment.
Working with EBP has enabled Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties staff to share their personal experiences and routes into the industry with students, as well as how in-job experience has complimented their training. We hope this gave students great insight into the choices available to them should they wish to do an apprenticeship, traineeship, or graduate scheme and consider a role at Taylor Wimpey, and also that the sessions increased their knowledge of what the business does and the different roles available. Our employees also greatly benefitted from engaging with the students and found the experience really positive and rewarding.
