The Guildhall Trust said “The Guildhall Trust supports Get Inspired, because it perfectly aligns with our charitable aspirations, that all young people should have equitable access to valuable career information. We recognise the need for young people to have inspirational opportunities to engage with employers, in order for them to understand the pathways into employment and raise their career aspirations. Through supporting initiatives such as this, we believe we can enable the talent pipeline in the city, and upskill the next generation of our workforce.”

28 businesses attended the event providing exciting interactive activities including a flight simulator, shipwreck science, line marking, mocktail making, and a water network connection activity. IMG 1045

BAE Systems Maritime said “BAE Systems Maritime were delighted to support this important event, encouraging the future generation of STEM professionals. The children were delighted by our sea state simulation, dexterity and photo booth activities; developing further understanding of STEM activities within the security and defence industry.  We hope to see many of them again in the future at BAE Systems!”

Richard Kennett, CEO of EBP South said “Get Inspired Portsmouth is an exciting and innovative event which allows young people to have key interactions with businesses. This in turn helps young people to develop their employability skills and broadens their horizons about the job opportunities that are available to them.”

93% of student respondents who attended the event said that they had learnt about job types or careers that they didn’t know about before the event.
