Rebecca Handley, Interim Executive Director at GO! Southampton said “Get Inspired is a fantastic event that empowers businesses to showcase their industry to young people in the city. We have been impressed by the drive and ambition of the pupils who attended the event, many already with aspirations of working in high-skilled sectors, which hopefully we can retain in Southampton. Pupils were positively engaged with our activity, put on in partnership with Artswork, throughout the day and it’s clear to see the future workforce of Southampton is prosperous.”

30 businesses attended the event, providing hands-on activities to engage the students such as being a radio DJ, a rota challenge, a buoyancy boat float activity, and learning CPR. This gave students the chance to speak to business Fiesta FMprofessionals and learn from their first-hand experience.

Professor Karen Stanton, Vice-Chancellor at Solent University said “We are delighted to be hosting EBP South here today. What an amazing opportunity for young people to connect with businesses and potential future careers. This is all about finding the right information and inspiring young people into the next stages of their lives.
